New Website, New Logo and the route to Makefest for 2021

In 2020 we brought you the inaugural Halton Makefest, which was a huge success with Makers showcasing their wares to Halton Libraries largest ever event, with over 4,000 attendees on the day. The other major news of 2020 was the global outbreak of Covid-19 that has impacted upon everyone’s day to day lives. The team at Mako Create  have been super busy through this lockdown period, planning for Halton Makefest 2021, to build on the success and guarantee that Covid-19 does not stop us from putting on a great family event. 

Of course, there will be changes to how we operate Makefest 2021, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, in order to ensure that everyone at the event is safe. We will be allocating short “Micro Sessions” and activities with the 2021 Makers, so the public will get one-to-one time which will make for some very hands-on and personal experiences. 

The amazing staff at Halton Libraries have ensured that Halton Lea Library will be dedicated to Halton MakeFest on the day, meaning the library will be closed to the general public (only ticket holders will be able to partake) in order for us to ensure maximum safety and  allow safe social distancing in conjunction with bespoke one way systems to guide our guests on a journey of discovery to visit all of our makers.

All these measures will be in place so we can have a great day and ensure everyone’s safety. To ensure those who are unable to attend the event can be involved, we will be streaming live from the event via social media platforms. 

As you can imagine, we’re still ironing out the finer details, but as soon as we have more confirmed details, visitors will be able to find out more about Halton MakeFest 2021 and how you can apply for tickets via our Vistors page soon. 

Halton Makefest 2021 is going to be different but no less exciting. Our ultimate goal is to make this a safe, family fun and engaging experience, so if you have never been to a Makefest, make sure you get involved in 2021.
